Unless you're turning around and trading your top picks for Crosby or Ovechkin.. then no, you don't

One assumption you seem to consistently make scott, is that every year every GM is trying to win it all... I know the first year I wasn't trying to, the main interest in a keeper league for me is following players to build and develop a team. I really don't plan on selling my farm system to go for the win, instead to build through it until the team wins. Meaning -> I believe that assumption is wrong. Please don't confuse this with tanking or trying to not-win, however my goal was, and still is to manage my team like I would an NHL team, with a full pipeline, player evaluating and trading when new information becomes available, target players I like and not just their stats, and the style of play I'd want my team to play.

I'm not making nor have I ever made that sort of assumption. It's as plain as the blue sky that GMs in this league are not trying to win it all every year.. only an outsider or a complete idiot would think that. I just know from experience that if you have the choice between potential and a guarantee.. you take the guarantee unless the potential is just too great. It's the BEST way to build a fantasy team whether it be a keeper or not. Teams should ALWAYS be looking to improve, immediately if they can. The assumptions I have about every GM are not the same. And really, I haven't been proven wrong so far. Who were the favourites in year one and who are the favourites now? I bet they're pretty much the same guys and IMO they will be forever with a few guys switching places from time to time.

Oh, and the difference between you and the GMs I'm referring to is.. well.. you know what I mean.

Gotta admit I thought you were saying I'd never win it because I like drafting too much :P

I think you'll win this year if you play your cards right. Looking up and down BBKL, you have the best team IMHO
