This is of small consequence to most of you but I gain closer to 900K-$1.5M...depends on which guy I want to plug in. When I trade two active players for one, I can bring up another player and you add that salary to the difference between Gonchar and Ward/Kelly. Say I plug in Summers at $1.2M, then I just gained $1.5M. I'm more likely to just add a guy on a 2-way deal (and not waiver exempt)...$500-600K cap hit at most added to the $300K or so.

And I'll say this...I went to a funeral on Friday for my girlfriend's aunt and I've got my ONLY sister living in New Jersey and my mom on vacation in Virginia and worried about them this weekend as the hurricane went through. I don't give two giant shits about what you know-it-alls have to say about this one trade nor am I going to waste my time arguing. Go back to felating each over your own trades...let me deal with my team myself.

Oh and I hope you had a nice weekend too, gentlemen...
Don't worry buddy. Sorry to hear that.
Sorry to hear you had a shitty weekend. I hope you have a better week

There was nothing slow about the way I put my team together other than spending the year trading NHLers for prospects. The team I have now has been built solely since the offsesaon started.

Sorry for getting so angry last night...I'm not mad at you guys, really.

I can deal with the occasional "hey, I just don't like this one for you" or "you could've done better" but this was a gang attack. I'm not discouraged from continuing to do what I'm trying to do. Let's face it...all 30 teams can't get better at the same time when we're using the same pool of players and we all can't get better at the same pace. I gave myself a tough roster to work with this summer and I've got to take some risks because there isn't a 31st place.

I'm hoping next summer won't be so much of a challenge to piece together a roster. Hopefully the cap doesn't go up some much...that didn't do a lot of us any favors because salaries will only go up as a result. Joel Ward doesn't get $3 million from Washington without the cap going up.

Get mad, we're all men (or close enough to it), and hopefully everyone knows this is just fantasy hockey -> our comments on this forum shouldn't impact you too much, especially not outside the BBKL.

Fair enough dude, but there's a difference between risk, and a straight up mistake - and yes there is a lot of sheep mentality here on the BBKL, where the first GM that questions the trade, then one calls a bad deal - the next 5 will all jump on until someone finally points out its gone too far, everyone steps back, repeat.

Could be argued, his pay for playoff performance has precedence, and for a team like the caps they for-sure want some clutch type, grinder guys. However I can guarantee you things will not be getting easier in the BBKL. Experience is under-rated, right until you have it; the league is becoming more experienced, and beginning to value the proven players a little more ;) Follow that trend, and you'll see more and more fair deals (of course there will still be the favourite trades, the drunk trades, and the new information deals).

Also as a contributing member here on the BBKL, and long-term GM.
