I've never been big on Armia either. Klefbom is pretty solid, though.

Frolik given the consistent opportunity, Frolik can get 60pts and 80-100 hits. That's not bad. He's a pretty complete 2nd-3rd liner.

I agree with your assessment on Frolik Shep.. Nick's just a cheap motherfucker.. hence him hating on it. Landing a very talented young NHLer for prospects isn't something that happens in BBKL very often.. Paul made a smart trade imho.

As for the value I received.. I really like the 3 prospects. Armia is a guy I've been high on since before the draft. Kelfbom too. I just figured I had way to many Blackhawk assets and I had good NHL forward depth so I used that to my advantage and grab some assets that could pay off with some patience!

BTW, if you wanna count rounds, Frolik was 10th overall, and the others 20+th's...

People get caught up way too much in prospects, where they were drafted, pre/post-draft hype, etc.


Armia was drafted 16th overall. Let's look at the 16th overall picks from 1999-2008 .. 10 years. Can't judge 2009-2011 yet IMO, not enough time to develop to the NHL.

Colborne/Umberger/Korpikoski/Sbisa all decent players with value anyway... I guess Armia will get some value continously if he does well. Getzlaf the only one worth mentioning

60pt forward who has never broken 50, on pace for under 40. I like Frolik, good player, but come on you did this deal because it was a win. 2 firsts and 2 2nds for a 3rd liner is out BBKL or NHL value... So ye, I don't think he's a 60point forward (which puts him top 60 in NHL scoring btw), and I don't think this is a good deal for Paul. But it's his team and he can do as he pleases

I'm totally game for understanding the odds of a draft pick, doesn't change their value in this league though.
