Heh. Phillips has missed 3 games in the last six years and is the only defenseman on the Ottawa Senators team capable of playing a full-time shutdown role. There's not a single player left in the system who can take his role. Sure, he's 33, but for a guy who's in great shape, a major decrease in hits, blocked shots, and SHTOI would be a shock.

essentially got the older version of Jason Garrison (w/ slightly better periphs) ... I'm okay with this
oh, I also have the "dinosaur" Hal Gill with 171:10 SHTOI, 109 BS
I'll take old and reliable over new and flashy ...

As an owner of Phillips for 2 1/2 seasons and Gill for 1 1/2 seasons, i can agree they are periph machines.
