Sad day over here but I've been bracing this day for the last few years. He was showing his age this year and he never had to deal with injuries like this before. I don't like seeing him retire after a 1st round exit but he's still going out on his own terms. He had an unreal career...we'll definitely miss him.
That being said, from a Wings' perspective...that frees up quite a bit of extra cash on top of the cap room they were going to have. They're going to be major players in free agency. Suter is the obvious target on defense. Parise and/or Semin up front...I'm all for the package deal of Suter and Parise. They'll be able to afford them both most likely.
