David Perron, Cory conacher, Mika zibanejad, Alex killorn, tim erixon and Ryan Ellis

Jake Gardiner - He is going to get the consistent minutes he deserves, and with his concussion and sophomore season behind him he will break out into the player everyone expected him to become.

Tomas Hertl - One of the best players not in the NHL last season, most people don't know alot about him because he played overseas, but they will get to know him this season.

Victor Hedman - Technically last season was his break-out year, but this will be the season that the hockey world takes notice.

Jonathan Drouin - Too talented not to take the NHL by storm immediately.

Why not? They have yet to break into the league and make an impact. That seems to meet the criteria of a break-out player.

From My team, Ryan Johansen, and Brendan Smith I see as breakout candidates.

He's gonna get into games this year for sure. Maybe not out of camp, but he will earn a call-up at some point.

This is literally Kassian's make or break year as a Canuck. He is a lazy piece of shit so 1 of 2 things will happen. 1, he learns how to work and becomes the player he should be, in turn breaks out. 2, the more likely outcome imo, continues to demonstrate the work ethic he has over his Canuck career thus far and Torts breaks him ending his days as a Canuck.

I just always had the preconception that a breakout year was to breakout from the standards one previously set for themselves in the NHL. Like if you come in to the NHL and tear it up you didn't breakout, you are just instantly a good nhler.

But if rookies do count, this years top 3 draftees really should all impress right away. I think Barkov and Drouin will both tear up the NHL more than expected. Mackinnon will definitely produce, but I think he's a couple years away from showing his true potential, which is through the roof.

I could honestly see 6 forwards from the top 10 of this draft having immediate nhl impacts, that's insane. Mackinnon, Lindholm, Barkov, Drouin, Monahan and Nichuskin all have the chance to play big roles for their respective clubs.
