There isn't. ESPN was the closest but no SHTOI. Yahoo has changed how everything looks and it's terrible now I think.

I think you just found out why they are so brutal for offseason crap, zero alternatives. They don't give a shit because they know we have to stay lol.

The silver lining though is they got rid of all those shitty empty placeholders I had on my roster....Too bad it took destroying my roster and adding random players to it that I never owned to fix it...

Okay - I just found an alternative to CBS!!

Mike/whoever else, check out http://www.Fantrax.com (or Google "fantrax"). If you guys remember, we used this website for a playoff pool a few years ago.

I'm still fiddling with it but they have SHTOI! Trying to see if we can custom fill out rosters.

At the very least, we can use the website as a back-up for our weekly match-ups.

They also have "Special Team Points" instead of PPP/SHP.

Can someone go on here and try setting up a league. I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to input rosters and am having trouble.

*If it isn't we could always do a dummy draft and then GMs could drop players/pick up who they own based on their spreadsheets.

But still seeing if this website is an option or not. Btw - some other cool features on this website:

-You can input draft picks as assets for as many years as possible
-You can trade draft picks and it tracks it for you
-You can also input a salary cap system but this will require us manually inputting it
-It also allows for a full minor league system

Considering the steaming pile of shiet CBS has become, I'd welcome a move. Can you add placeholders?

Yahoo's new interface is a massive upgrade for them.

Hi, a few weeks ago all our players in our keeper league (this is our 5th season with you guys) were deleted. We had most of them restored, though our placeholders had to be added again manually.

We have been adding them manually for the last couple weeks. Our rosters were beginning to look good again, just in time for preseason.

Now, yesterday, we have noticed that a massive amount of all of our rosters have simply vanished again. What's going on? This is getting worrisome with the season so close.

Please advise,
Mike

I use Fantrax for 3 fantasy leagues and it is a good platform. One free league I'm in nhl2.com even decided to buy a lifetime membership this offseason (more functionality) by asking members to donate what they could and I think it worked out to $12 per person in a 24 person leage, but we had a guy pay like $80 which helped. That league is only entering it's 2nd season and activity level is low in comparison to this league.

I've never used CBS and still haven't been set up on there for this league, but I don't know of many leagues that use it where as I know Fantrax is trustworthy and simple to use.

If CBS blows off or doesn't give a satisfying answer to Mike, we have to look at this other option. All fantasy sites have issues but for their site to go off the rails since this fancy upgrade, it seems counter-productive and you should expect more from them when it's a pay product.

I just realized that the reason I am in 24 person leagues is because that is the max allowed on the free version of Fantrax. If it was decided it was worth switching from CBS to Fantrax the only option is paying for a season or for a lifetime membership.

I don't mind paying if it's worthwhile, but fuck this is cutting it close to the start of the season. As was suggested if we can get CBS as the "official" for this season and maybe try FT concurrently we can test er out. I've already paid for CBS this year but no harm trying both and weighing our options for next year.

Any idea the cost of lifetime membership?

Mike paid for CBS this year, i'd demand my money back before leaving, or just staying this season and then moving to a different site next year.

Our commish inquired to Fantrax since he was disappointed they changed one of the free features to premium. They were helpful and quick to reply with some suggestions and even called out CBS. Here was his response about cost:

A couple of suggestions:

1) Have each member pay about $3, which we facilitate so that each
person can pay with their credit card on their own so nobody has to
collect money from anyone.

2) We offered a lifetime membership in the past, and may offer it once
more before the start of the NHL season. Either way, given your
circumstance, we can offer it to you for the last price we offered it
for (the next one will be more expensive) - which was $279, so split up
into 24 is about $11.60 per person, only paid once - and then you have
use of the league for life.

We understand the position you are in. But we want to be around for much
longer than you want to run your league. It would not be possible to
insure that if our product is completely free. Our price is very
reasonable as compared with any other premium league management service,
such as CBS, who charge $150 per league and do not offer lifetime
packages (as far as we know).

We hope you are your league-mates will choose one of the options above
as we very much value your patronage and loyalty.

Thanks,
Gerald
The Fantrax Team

I've never had a problem with the keeper league I'm in on CBS for football. It seems they couldn't care less about the hockey. It's a joke, frankly.
