The Leafs can handle losing Clarkson for ten games, Kulemin just takes his spot on that line, and McClement moves up to the third line to fill the void. The bigger concern is the cap, this might make it near impossible to sign Franson before November, it also makes it more difficult to sign Raymond who has looked very good thus far. At this point, I think Nonis has to bite the bullet and attach an asset to move Liles contract, maybe Colborne + Liles to Calgary for a 3rd round pick?

Ironic, i was talking to my brother last night about this and said Ashton has outplayed Colborne, and said i woudln't be surprised to see Colborne packaged with Liles (to at least give liles a little value) for a pick (i suggested 2nd or 3rd - probably 3rd round value)

in which we'd have to make that trade to open up cap room

Think its time to face the fact that Colborne hasnt really panned out. Bruins saw this, think the Leafs do now, also.

lol such bullshit.

the bruins saw this when he played for them when he was what...19? your hind sight is exceptional. that's why bruins nation was so vehemently opposed to moving colborne in the kaberle deal i suppose right?

LOL

i hate to agree with anton but i do, the Bruins didn't want to do the deal with Colborne, they tried to include that piece of crap that you eventually waived, (i forget this name but he was a 7th overall pick)

i believe he's either signed in van or wsh now, but he's seen like 4 NHL games.

I'd be fine packaging Colborne with Liles.

Bye to both.

what are the chances the leafs waive liles if they can't find a trading partner for him? the money saved by waiving him will pay raymond.

Colborne isn't a bust yet, and by all accounts there is interest in him, there just doesn't appear to be a spot for him on the Leafs, Though the Clarkson suspension might have changed that.
