We already have a rule on this, no? If a player is draft eligible and signed, and not claimed at the appropriate interval in the summer, said player is treated like a prospect FA, and eligible for the dispersal draft.

Well, if stuff that isn't in the CBA is going to be ruled as official, stuff that actually is in the CBA should be called as well.

2-6 : NCAA and International FA's can only be claimed via the leagues annual Waiver Draft, you may not claim them through the waiver wire, unless player in question has been signed by an NHL club prior to the start of the season.

Not only that;

1-1 : Players who turn eighteen (18) years of age before the fifteenth of September and are no older than twenty (20) years of age by the thirty-first of December are eligible for selection. Non-North American players over the age of twenty (20) are also eligible

Oh i don't doubt you, I just like the irony of everyone telling you you cant do something then you use the same rule to prove a point. I like it. I have never nor will be one to say i completely understand this FA/unsigned prospect stuff. I leave that to the geeks! ;)

That's what I thought it was too. It's retarded to draft a player that is signed to a contract already.

draft eligible = draft eligible
claimable FA = 20 or over with a contract until the claimable date which eludes me right now

retroactive (to Nov 26th I believe) TBL places a claim on David Clarkson.

Cannot find him being on the bench and he is in the minors.

note:
Tampa Bay Lightning were successful in there claim for Erik Ersberg from TOR
is incorrect, Ersberg should have been released as he was a UFA; claiming him was/is not at expense of waiver priority.

Washington places John Carlson in the minors (waiver exempt) and places a claim on David Clarkson.
In the case of a mistake being made does the finding GM not get priority?

Huh?

I guess I place a claim on Clarkson even though I won't get him.

Finders fee ?

note: please resist adjusting your roster currently; prior waiver/roster mistakes have been handled in various methods.
