100% what I was just about to do. Scoring also hard to get in this league. I now take back my comment on not arguing from above with the Wilson and Holden picks

Do u fixate hard on what previous years stats indicate?
You will quickly learn around here that a run of the mill top 6 scoring forward is usually worth TWO periph based assets on the dollar.

That is, if a GM is even willing to sell off a scorer for periph player(s) to begin with

Well obviously but still, you took a historically periph defenseman off a career points year on a team with plenty of defenseman on the way over a 25 goal scorer when your team is periph heavy and lacking in points/goals. Not crucifying at all, but Tatar made alot more sense to me there so seems a little off to me.

This. Scoring will always be harder to find and acquire than periphs, even if some GM's have boners for periphs pieces.

Go Tony West ... but without the top5 goaltending/two of the top10 Elite D

Not really sure how NYR has a lot of defensemen on the way. Graves is pretty much their only prospect. And Girardi and Staal are possibly the two most over-the-hill players in the league.

They'll sign someone. Maybe Shatty if they can make the cap work. Skjei should increase his workload. they also have Day and Zborovsky besides Graves coming. McDonagh isn't going anywhere either. Holden has career year written over him, he's also 30. Great periphs guy no doubt, but expecting a repeat of that point total, or something better is ballsy.

Again, he's a good piece, it's just surprising that a team that lacks scoring passed on Tatar.
