Yeah, I dislike this style. Seems more similar to the other major sport sites and lots of the sportscasting sites. Definitely seems to move towards esthetics and disregard utility.

True. It also matches the mobile app...as far as layout. I have to think the app was redesigned first. Also GameCenter was rebranded as NHL.TV.

The MLB media influence is in full effect. The site closely resembles MLB.com and the TV platform is comparable to MLB.TV. If they can only get NHL Network up to the quality the MLB Network, we'll have something. The NHLN product has improved this season.

Just as I say that...the NHL app is updated and now looks a lot like the MLB app. Similar information for games to the NHL site. I like the more complete box score on the app. The old app had much fewer stats in the box scores.

it's a step forward cause it makes quicker to see those, but it's not like they weren't available before... you just needed to click on the live 'game summary' or whatever that sheet was called

It was there but was much more difficult to access those stats on the fly

Brandon Prust and Mason Raymond on waivers

I would think Prust gets claimed I've always been a fan.
Has he been that bad this year?

I'd need to find the games highlights first on that new ugly nhl.com website

The .com site and the mobile app are pretty cool but a bit buggy.

On the app, the goal summary on the scores page had the most bugs. I like the info for the games as there are in progress and then they have more stats posted after the game.

If guys like Prust are hitting waivers, does anyone actually think the leafs will get much for their plugs? I know they tried to sign guys to cheap 1 year deals to 'flip' them for picks at the deadline, but honestly, how many of these guys would actually have more value than a waiver claim?

Matthias, Spalling, Froese, Boyes, Marincin, Grabner, Lupul, Winnik
Those guys are essentially all worthless or worth very little (a waiver claim or late pick)
Then you have guys like PAP, Hunwick and Polak, who's worth is probably a 3rd and maybe 3rd + 5th.

I'd wager the leafs get very little this deadline for their scubs.

The league is changing. Teams are starting to roll 4 lines of skill and going away from 4th line grinder types. When you have all of the people who have been waived this year not being claimed, it is obvious change is in the air.
