NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Hampers starting to wake up. This is good.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I believe you are including goalie gp. The lowest for skaters are currently Arizona and Anaheim at 645 each. It should be close to impossible for either of us to make skater gp at this point I'd think, unfortunately. Unless I can get out of last place I'll be forfeiting a 1St rounder.Nick wroteCOLONThankfully it is much more reasonable already; 770 the lowest here (much more evenly distributed) and with playoffs accumulating GP there's not a ton of risk of anyone missing unless it's intentional -> unless I'm missing something.kimmer wroteCOLONTime to re discuss bbkl gp limit to something lower

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
With 8 weeks left, if you're under 700 GP after this week, you'll need at least 50 GP a week to get to 1100. It's not impossible...you'd need all 18 guys in your lineup to play 3 games a week the rest of the way. The problem up to this point is you'd be averaging only 41 GP each week.
For the teams around 800 after this week, the average number of games needed is around 40 per week. 800 GP through 17 weeks averaged around to 47 GP each week so it's very reasonable reach the number.
To look at another way, to reach 1100 GP every season...you need an average of 61 GP from your 18 skaters over the course of the season. Or if you didn't dress a full lineup every week, you'd have to get 82 games from at least 13 players in your lineup.

With the lottery it makes GP a little less important imo.
I'd like to see it lowered to 1000.
I don't like penalizing first round picks.

It's not that hard to dress as many active players as possible and it's much easier to acquire skaters with GP than goalies.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
chasing GP is much easier in the beginning of the season. That's why I unslide my guys who were playing. Getting as many GP from the start was one of my main strategies. Going from not being able to field even an actually NHL roster to sitting at 784 GP so far I'm happy with but def agree goalies GP are much harder to come by

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
If this was the real NHL, you'd just play any 18 skaters and 2 goalies and roll the dice...you don't have to cough up prospects while you're rebuilding.
In fantasy, there are rules you need to follow you can't keep all your picks and prospects under glass. The only teams that can protect their prospects are the top teams in the league who are competing and aren't settling for high draft picks every year.
If you don't even own your own pick this year, why even worry about where you finish? Play with a legal roster and finish as high as you can.

Solid assessment therekimmer wroteCOLONperiph players that have skill will be the most valuable
soon enough, non periph skilled players who stagger on the mid 6 forward lines will be abundant. Guys that put up minimal 35 pts and almost no periphs.

AVV is about what i expect term is shorter. Think a team would have gave him longer if he hit FA so see that is a win for WPG
