That's a cheap contract.

Its actually two aweful playoffs in a row. He has put up stats in the past but like backstrom/green etc they have had some point success but have looked terrible in the actually on ice play. I know you will reference to the 09 playoffs where he did have one good series, unfortunately it was only one. I wish the guy could figure out how to play consistantly as he is a top 10, maybe higher, talent in this league.Shep wroteCOLONOne bad playoff series really gives people a bad rap nowadays.shooker wroteCOLONDetroit only likes players that show up in the playoffs so I doubt they'd want him.Shep wroteCOLONBest line in the league.
He's also single-handedly won them a playoff series before.
I don't mind the contract at all either. I think he's worth it.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONNope, about 6 million left.
As for Dubinsky's contract, I fucking love it...You have to realize that this is a 4 year contract. Not a one or two year deal, the Rangers overpaid slightly in the present, but over the duration of that contract Dubinsky will prove more than worth it.
I think he is closed to peaked but its hard to tell as the Rangers have been a defense first type of squad for a few years now. I could see him as a consistant 55-65 point guy who might touch 70 in a season where everything went right for him.Mike wroteCOLONI don't mind the contract at all either. Think I'm wondering is, am I alone in thinking he's pretty much peaked? I think he's about as good as he's going to get (which is pretty darn good).
It is so hard to tell with a player like Dubinsky...Just look at Callahan and Kesler, most thought they had peaked last season. Sometimes all it takes is a more offensive team structure.Mike wroteCOLONI don't mind the contract at all either. I think he's worth it.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONNope, about 6 million left.

Fisher is overpaid, you cannot look at his contract in isolation and deem him worthy of the 4-5 million he earns, you need to compare it to other similar players. And by that standard he is without a shadow of a doubt overpaid, but certainly not a cap killer like I've heard from some in the past.shooker wroteCOLONKind of like the Fisher contract imo, which is worth it every night on the ice but if you are just looking at stats you'd say they are overpayed. This guy does alot to help his team win every night. I expect similar for callahan tbh

You can't compare their deals on a dollar to dollar basis, Mike Fisher signed at a time when the cap was close to 10 million dollars lower, so the percentage of his salary in relation to the total cap was far greater. Further consider that I labeled the Dubinsky deal as "slightly overpaid." The saving grace in that deal is that Dubinsky is paid over 4 years, at his age the potential for further growth is reasonable. Mike Fisher by comparison is a finished product, for the most part.shooker wroteCOLONMSP4LYFE wroteCOLONFisher is overpaid, you cannot look at his contract in isolation and deem him worthy of the 4-5 million he earns, you need to compare it to other similar players. Well Fish suffered a shoulder injury 10 games into the season this year. He then battled through it all year and eventually had surgery this offseason, one of three surgeries needed lol. So he was a shadow of himself all year. Take a look at both of these guys in their career years. obviously duby is better offensivly and has some upside left, but to totally dismiss Fisher as even in the same league is wrong. They both bring big games and minutes to their teams. both have cap hits of 4.2 as well.
Also my comparisson was that they both bring alot more to their team than stats show and I don't think that is debateable.
