The NHL expects to open a window where the Las Vegas team can make trades/transactions before expansion draft. That's never happened before.

Keith Yandle and Anton Stralman have a combined cap hit of $10.85m.

Dan Girardi and Marc Staal have a combined cap hit of $11.2m.

Any word on whether we'll have an "AHL Draft" as well for the expansion team. Rules: "you can protect 3 prospects" or send a 2018 2nd/3rd rounder instead (i.e. if you think you're 4th prospect is worth more than one of those picks).

Also, whats the word on playing a season in a non-AHL/NHL league. My thoughts are those players should be exempt, because for a lot of them its = to CHL. But happy to hear others thoughts.

So after taking 30 assets in the expansion draft, you want to give that team the equivalent of 30 2nd rounders?

Don't forget to add that we strip all previous cup winners from their championship and name the expansion team the winner of each year instead!

Euro leagues don't count and no second prospect draft.

Vegas would be in our 2017 entry draft and I assume we're doing the expansion draft before that.

sick grab by the Avalanche, IMO. Berra is not a good goalie.

Rocco isn't exactly a stud himself though haha

looked pretty good in his shot last year IMO, and had a few good showings in the playoffs - not scoring like expected, small guy and just 23. For Berra I think that's a sick deal for the avs.

Pretty fair deal. The Avs wanted to unload Berra while Florida would've lost Grimaldi to waivers, or at least risked it. Montoya is a UFA.
