then how do we know who's won the divisions already? have people really ran away with it that bad so far? like if we have 5 weeks

5x16 = 80 wins up for grabs, that's a possible 160 points. That seems like a lot of ground for teams to either catch-up or fall off.

It's kind of sad how Shiv and I's first round matchup is almost assured already this early in the season. That stupid wildcard bit has to go next year...dont get why they dont just send a team over to the West to even out the teams and go back to the old playoff format. I understand the travel argument and all but still...I'd much rather play Kyle than Shiv in Round 1.

Well considering Thom and Lee are both throwing the year, coupled with Berg trying to make up for bad starts the only real threat to Shiv's title is Tony and Dave. And no disrespect meant to those teams I dont see either of them catching Shiv (without having looked at remaining schedules).

Granted stranger things have happened but I see a 2. Shiv vs 7. Chuck rather easily on the horizon as I dont expect to catch Kyle or Nick before seasons end....especially with me yet to face Mike!

1 bad week and a team is easily caught under our format (and i'm not complaining, i love our format and have voted for h2h anytime it's been taken to a vote)

IMO you are not thinking if you believe anyone is closing the 30 point lead that Shiv has.

Our scoring system magnifies the differences, it does not make them easier to close.


I *wish* Shiv was 10-4-2 for 22 points that would make for a properly interesting final 5 weeks. Especially with Tony @ 9-6-1 (19pts) & Thom @ 9-5-2 (20 points)... all would be a very interesting final. Thom finishes 5-0 and if shiv only managed 3-1-1 and you'd have a swap.



But in our system It's not as easy as shiv losing to one of these guys

I did some thinking I wouldn't mind changing our format to just matchup W-L-T as opposed to the accumulation of category wins and losses like we do now.

Nick brings up a good point. At the end of a day, a win is a win. But right now, beating a bottom feeder 14-2 means a whole lot more on the standings than beating a contender 8-7-1. In the NHL though, both types of wins would just be tallied up as a win or a loss.

If we have enough support it maybe we can put a vote together? 75%?

Would support a 2 point win system.
