I'm torn on Stamkos, there's a part of me that wants him to sign, and a part that wants nothing to do with his large contract.

in 3 years we'll need big raises for Marner, Nylander, Matthews, JVR, and a few others. That said, having too much quality is a good thing! A catch-22.

At first I tried to talk myself out of wanting him at 10M but I want to cheer for the Leafs and we are set up well financially with contracts coming off the books next year. If CHI can win with two 10.5M players why can't Toronto with one?

Exactly what I thought Forsberg would get.

As for Stamkos, I'd rather pay for free agent defencemen than forwards in the future since that seems to be a huge hole both on the roster and in the prospect pool.
