Bright side, it's probably a one year situation. Can't imagine Bernier hangs around there...probably just insurance for Gibson.

I don't think he declined the offer (from the leafs). I just think he wanted to see what else was out there (potentially hold out for more money)

I hope he's not coming to the leafs. He's an awful hockey player.

I don't think the Leafs made an offer. We did hear the Leafs were in on Martin though so I guess they aren't completely leak proof.

More and more teams are going with the big contract out of the ELC and not dicking around with bridge deals...a la Subban. They'll be plenty young enough to get more money when this next deal ends.

If you really believe in a player then there's no need for a bridge. Everyone is trying to avoid paying guys 10 mil haha and I don't blame them.
