It probably should but it's hard to tell what some GMs concept of value is sometimes, I believe Maatta and Trouba were drafted in the same year and I know that Pittsburgh is arguably higher on Maatta than they should be, other teams might be too.

I don't think Pittsburgh is as high as they once were. His ice time is the lowest it's been in his career, and he is getting no pptoi.

Part of the problem is the Maatta - Daley pairing is really not very good, and Maatta seems slower than ever in Pittsburgh's new system. He can still be effective in the right deployment but I'm not sure if that's the kind of deployment Pittsburgh can give him with the way they play now. And yeah I doubt he'll ever get onto either powerplay unless injuries force it.

As big an indictment on Maata as anything. And I actually like Maata.

No I'm pretty sure they know he's struggling, he spent a game or two on the bottom pairing too. Hard to tell how much they think it's recovering from the miriad of injuries he had in the last year and how much they know he's just not the right fit

don't think trouba will be back in this week... I wonder if at all - may pull the trigger on a move before disrupting the team with a "guy who doesn't want to be there"

I expect a 2 week conditioning stint and magically a trade before he suits up for them again
