If this is the precedent we want, whats the stop everyone from 'owning' players not on their sheets and only claiming them once they make the NHL?Matthew wroteCOLONOh cmon, guys. It's nicks player.
100% agreeShep wroteCOLONThis is the only reason that I am not 100% hateful of the contract.thom54 wroteCOLONthere are almost 0 top 4 RHD on the market this year as UFA.
Top 4 RHD are the rarest commodity right now in the NHL. Leafs have one in Zaitsev and zero in the Marlies with a future on this team. Going from needing one to needing two would be real bad.
The dollars aren't the end of the world. 5x5 would have been much preferred, but seven years is still scary, regardless of there being ways to get out of the deal. That's bad business to just be like "after five years we will just waive him and he can go to Russia. It's why Toronto, while soon to be a destination people want to come to, they also hesitate because of what has happened with Robidas island.
i knew it would be my case =.=Bruyns wroteCOLON
CC thread so not all can see, but it was Sean Macguire who Hong never claimed on Fantrax and listed on his roster submission every year but spelled his name wrong. Ruling was not Hong's player due to never claiming on Fantrax.
Really don't like taking a valuable player from a team and wish Nick had him on one of Fantrax or Googledocs at least so there was a record of his ownership. Also really changes the value of that waiver pick Steve just traded if he was under the impression Ship was already owned which was my assumption.
I'll give u a 3rd for him.kimmer wroteCOLONSimon Desores making a comeback
Handsome&FairMike wroteCOLONI feel like nick has until waiver draft to add him on fantrax. Just so happened that shipachyov's name came up again in the news that helps him out. But you're right. We should be on top of this shit. Maybe even institute a rule that waiver claims/draft picks must be processed on fantrax within 6-8 weeks or else the player is exposed. Really no excuse for not adding pieces you drafted.
Would make no sense to not include GP adjustment, as the entire purpose of it is to adjust standings.Matthew wroteCOLONI don't believe it takes into account gp adjustment. I actually just brought this up in cc that in the future it should, before I read your comment haha.
But if we wanted to start it this year Pitt Mike owns 1&2 either way, so I would be the only one sliding back in reality, and I'm okay with that for the sake of getting this done properly.
Agree! And I own the top two???foofnik wroteCOLONWould make no sense to not include GP adjustment, as the entire purpose of it is to adjust standings.Matthew wroteCOLONI don't believe it takes into account gp adjustment. Yes but no one claimed him when he could have been claimed. So I argue nick has the opportunity to take him again. But maybe it's just me.Lee wroteCOLONHandsome&FairMike wroteCOLONI feel like nick has until waiver draft to add him on fantrax. How does that make sense? He wasn't included on his roster submission.
