still i was hoping he gets less becoz of a lesser production this year (just like the whole team) and thought it'd be a longer term..

can nhl players hold out and not participate in the NHL all star game to fuck the fking bettman up? i'd love the player to do something to show their frustration over the stupidity of the NHL owners and useless commissioner

You can sit out the All Star game but it comes with a 1 game suspension punishment

who cares.. suspend everyone.. everyone wants to be in the olympics instead of the all-star game.. then the all-star games has no one but a bunch of matt martins and john scotts there

at least i know i don't care about how the all star game goes and it doesn't have any impact except maybe the all star player getting an injury during the event..

If the league and the owners don't want the Olympics then its their call, if your boss tells you that you can't get a leave from work to do something then that's it in most cases isn't it?

ya that's it but i will not be a happy employee if my boss is not reasonable.. i can always look for a new employer.. but that's just different.. this means representing your country and its an honour and possibly life time experience and something they'd dream of during childhood

I think Bettman and the NHL are missing the bigger picture, which is that the Olympics grow the sport's visibility and the interest of the casual fan. Look at what the World Cup does for soccer's popularity every 4 years. The Olympics have the same impact when people can watch the US try to beat Russia for a gold medal.

But, no, of course Bettman and the NHL only look at the short-term profit from it. Just like when they chose to put games on Versus for a slightly bigger check instead of ESPN, where they would've gotten all the exposure the same way the NBA currently does.

I honestly don't think most players will make a big deal out of missing the Olympics when it comes down to it
