Agreed. As long as Kane, Toews, Panarin, Keith, and Crawford are all in their primes they'll at least be competitive. Having to trade Hjammer would hurt though, and Seabrook and Hossa are only getting worse and are signed till the end of time.Matthew wroteCOLONI think they will continue to be a very good team for quite a few more years, despite some of these contracts.
Whoa, forgot about this contract. Still assumed he's on his 5.800 one. Yes, this one is awful.timwebb1212 wroteCOLONThis. Terrible contract.Bruyns wroteCOLONlol they have won 0 cups with it, he just finished his first season of a 8 year deal and he is 32. It's probably in the top 10 for bad contracts depending on how steep his decline is.Robin Hood wroteCOLONWon 3 cups on it. Not really that terrible.CasperX22 wroteCOLONYep. It's pretty bad.Bruyns wroteCOLONThat Seabrook contract is terrible.
Yeah I see them kind of the same, very little depth worth anything, few dark years before they start to turn it around. The unfortunate thing is that they're doing it when Kane and Toews are already almost 30. Pittsburgh managed to only lose part of Sid and Geno's prime. Blackhawks may lose the rest of Kane and ToewsRobin Hood wroteCOLONI think they're about to go on a swing similar to the pens in 09. Good team that now needs good GMing to find its way back. May take years.
Along the way GM's kept taking players off their hands after they were overpaid: Sharp, Bickell, Bolland, Campbell, Shaw, Versteeg, or before they needed to get paid like Saad, Brouwer, Byfuglien.Loki wroteCOLONI really don't understand how they went so quickly from being the smart team that trades away all it's non essential guys and stays competitive to the team that signs non core guys to awful contracts and trades for Rob Scuderi
I think I know how...they always thought their core was: Toews, Kane, Keith, Seabrook, Hossa, Sharp, Hjamm. That made it easy to lose guys like buff, ladd etc. But slowly they've stripped away many many more pieces because they're stuck with Hossa's contract and now Seabrook. So you're handcuffed.Loki wroteCOLONI really don't understand how they went so quickly from being the smart team that trades away all it's non essential guys and stays competitive to the team that signs non core guys to awful contracts and trades for Rob Scuderi

Seems weird. He wouldn't make that much money in Europe... plus uproot a family (?if he has one). Something's uphong57 wroteCOLONplaying in europeMatthew wroteCOLONWho would leave 2.75m on the table when they haven't made that much and are only 32. I can't see it happening.
