IMO NYI wasn't going to deal within conference for Hamonic. I think he's going to be excellent (NHL wise) in CGY. That's a top 5 NHL D core right there.

I don't believe the leafs offered JVR + 1st. Isn't that what Steve Simmonds reported? That guy is a joke.

Elliott Friedman said it was a bigger deal and included multiple parts, one he suspected was Halak and his salary. I'm guessing it was something like JVR + ahl goalie for Hamonic + Halak.
