That's a major penalty for me... not sure about the game misconduct though. That's probably why he doesn't get another game, but I could see him getting 1 more. That was a nasty hit.

He didn't even hit him lol! Crosby was already going down and coming at Niskanen full speed and put his stick up to protect himself. A natural reflex on a bang bang play. Should've been 2 mins for high sticking, but bc it is Crosby laid out on the ice they ran him.

Now with that said, OV definitely should've gotten a penalty for the initial slash on Crosby and actually hit him in the back of the head with the blade of his stick.

He needs to play sheltered minutes 5 on 5. That's why I wouldn't want him for the Leafs.

Worst misconception about Shattenkirk. Washington hasn't done a very good job of optimizing their defense pairings since he got there. I certainly wouldn't pair Shattenkirk with a slow footed defender though as he ages and loses foot speed.

Guess Sid is out for the series.

I think there's a good chance Sid is back for Game 4. A Pens reporter saw him walking around in the arena talking to people between periods. I suspect he was just held out because he wasn't allowed to go back onto the ice in the same game due to protocol.

i jus had a chance to look at the replay... it's more like sid lose his balance and runs into niskinen.. niskinen is just protecting himself and put his hand up.. i dont' think he has any intention to cross check on his head.. just happen he's falling into him... i think if im niskinen i would do the same to protect myself from sid crushing onto me..

Really all depends how he wakes up tomorrow morning I guess. He probably shouldn't play, but I wouldn't rule him out doing it
