According to sportsnet the raise will increase that much to allow for higher salaries for superstars.

Examples given: Matthews and Erik Karlsson

For the first few weeks...you're thinking cool story to start the season.

More than three months in...these guys are legit.

A good balanced attack. Neal is their top goal scorer as expected. I thought they had the makings of a decent defense but I was positive they'd struggle without a legit #1 center. Having solid goaltending doesn't hurt.

Cool seeing a fun team like Winnipeg get their crap together and you watch the rapid improvement of the Devils...definitely a season for upstart clubs.

Pleasure to finally watch guys like Haula & W.Karlsson play with confidence. Oh and is it me or Perron looks like a completely different player from the last few seasons

These guys are doing something or taking some supplement that is making them clot more. Been a few too many of these to call it a coincidence.

Well could be two fold, dehydration would play a role. So would blood doping or taking EPO... all possible, that's in addition to the normal other risk factors (thoracic outlet, and then the normal shit)

Just depends if they're doing it more now than before/ it's actually reported now vs. before.

"it" being anything from just over dehydrating with better tests to identify the clots vs. EPO/blood doping being en vogue in the NHL currently.

If I were to guess it's a blood doping + situation

This is absolutely true. I'm a pseudo doctor
