To get a solid scorer for a full season...not just a deadline pickup...and don't have to give up a 1st or a prime prospect...I have to agree, the Sabres did well here.

I agree with Matthew. 7.35 for 1 year to UFA just proves the insanity of the sens organization.

Typically that’s not how a short term deal works as you’re giving up a lot of security (guaranteed money) from the players perspective. Ottawa is fortunate to have him at that amount as Melnyk saves cash.

7.35 is fair or a bit underpaid if it's long term.. he's really worth that if Wilson gets 5 and jt gets 11 (could be 13 in the market)..
