I wouldn't have paid him either. Had a pretty flukey season, so I would want to see if he can do it again before throwing big money at him.

I wouldn't. Offering him a long term deal is a high risk proposition at that price.

I agree with Casper. If he repeats then it may cost you 1 mil more per season, but if this season was a fluke and you invested 6 x 6, then he is dead weight for another 5-6 years. It's a great deal for team and player.
