General Hockey Talk/Vids
Re: General Hockey Talk/Vids
There has to be something said about the amount of some of these D-men are being paid and what there output is. Look at the top 10 paid D-men in the league:
Chara, Zdeno - 7.5
Campbell, Brian - 7.14
Bouwmeester, Jay - 6.680
Boyle, Dan - 6.66
Jovanovski, Ed - 6.500
Phaneuf, Dion - 6.500
Redden, Wade - 6.500
Timonen, Kimmo - 6.33
Lidstrom, Nicklas - 6.20
Rafalski, Brian - 6.000
The only ones on that list that deserve that amount of money, imo, is bolded. Underlines are close. I understand contract values are different year to year but damn, people are getting overpaid...

Re: General Hockey Talk/Vids
I'd pay Jaybo that deal all day, easily one of the best defensive defenceman in hockey, and the Dion deal was more than fair at the time it was signed, things have since changed, but that can happen to anyone.

Dion is such a mystery.. its like his old lady calmed him down.. although she made Sean Avery retarded. There is no explanation for his declining offensive ability, it seemingly happened overnight. Whatever the reason I believe he will return to form in the future, you don't get notably worse at 25...The Devil wroteCOLONDion is such a mystery.. its like his old lady calmed him down.. although she made Sean Avery retarded. Hip injury in Calgary he played through, since then his skating ability seems to have suffered. Even now his skating seems worse now than it was in years past, and his aggression has been toned down a lot, that I'm not sure why, confidence maybe. His shot needs work too, too high most of the time, but in Calgary he had better shooting lanes with Iginla and Conroy/Langkow here that isn't the case. The Devil wroteCOLONDion is such a mystery.. its like his old lady calmed him down.. although she made Sean Avery retarded. Re: General Hockey Talk/Vids
Good interview with Aaron Ward. Dude is made for the media.

couple quotes:
"If the rink were round he'd be a perfect player"
-Aaron Ward on Phil Kessel not going into the corners.
Talks about concussions and his Stanley Cup experience when he was knocked out in game 5 by Torres but came out to play anyway or he would have to take baseline tests...

Re: General Hockey Talk/Vids
Easily the greatest hitter to ever play!! Probably the most intimidating defenseman to play as well!!

What a Great few minutes of hockey, fucking intense.
If I find Tim brents heroics today I'll put that up too, one of the best leaf moments of the season IMO.

Damn right it was. Whole game was exciting. Love it. Kareem, remember when you asked me about Bergeron when we made the trade for Getzlaf? I told you he would be fucking awesome this year. He could be right up with Kesler for Selke. I think you gave him away too fast. He is a beast. May I also put out this bold prediction: I predict Toronto Maple Leafs win the BBKL championship this season. seriously!inferno31 wroteCOLONhttp://www.kuklaskorner.com/index.php/h ... uins_game/

Re: General Hockey Talk/Vids
wow, that game last night between Bruins and Stars was fantastic. just read that Burish is now on IR and Barch flew home too. Both with facial injuries from fighting..lol and of course Sawada with the broken nose and separated shoulder.
Re: General Hockey Talk/Vids
Burish finished the game and picked up an assist after the fight..

Re: General Hockey Talk/Vids
Stars tried to play the Bruins at their own game... being a physical team is very different from being a tough team... just think... all those fights/big hits and the Dallas tough guys (aside from Benn & Grossman) were used up... Boston still had Chara, Lucic, Boychuk, & Horton roaring and ready to go.
Re: General Hockey Talk/Vids
Just listened to Horton interviewed on WEEI after his 5 point night last night. He was asked about his slump and what finally broke it. He said he and a buddy went to a pro shop during all-star break and he ended up buying 6 new sticks to try out. He used one of those sticks last night and even left the price tags and stickers on it as to not change it or jinx it...lol He is presently on the lookout to get more of those sticks from that same store...hahaha
