Why would the compensation be set pre lottery but the punishment be given post lottery?

Wow, I was ridiculously close to getting McDavid. Leafs 1 were ball off winning the lottery at my slot coupled with the fact that the pick moves back 1 after the lottery instead of before.

If I'm you Strome and Hanifin are far and away the only two I would consider taking at that spot. With Strome comes a fairly certain immediate impact, as I would be absolutely shocked if he doesn't crack the Coyotes/Leafs. Hanifin is a little more difficult to predict, he may end up being the more valuable BBKL asset, but how soon that impact comes is hard to predict. As a prospect I like him more than Ekblad in terms of long-term projections, but i question if he will be able to step right in as quickly as he did.

Just over two weeks left until we do this thing...

I don't know how many last year took advantage but I'll purchase a couple draft guides and make that available to everyone. I'm going by cost and availability. I'll probably get Future Considerations and Hockey News again. I'll post something when those become available.
