Saw a good point brought up on Twitter...Staal has the Carolina connection with Skinner...so that makes some sense.

Don’t mind it for Mojo. Couldn’t be much worse than the situation in Buffalo.

It makes way more sense for Buffalo than it does for Minnesota for sure. Staal was on pace for 65 points again, he's still a top 6 center, something Buffalo desperately needed and Minnesota now potentially has none of.

I have a lot of time for McCann, he's gotten better each year in the league, he will be key to keeping the Pens competitive as Malkin & Crosby continue to fight age. Good signing by Pittsburgh, I would have signed him even longer if I were Rutherford but he's a valuable piece at a good cap hit nonetheless.

Sprong signed a 2 year, one-way ticket with the caps at 725 per... wonder if he gets a consistent chance to play, some pp2 time maybe. I wasn't expecting this...

I think Draisaitl won the Hart just for that stretch of the season when McDavid was out. To me, those two cancel each other out when they're both healthy. It does help Draisaitl for him to carry his own line. Those two can feel like two separate difference-makers in that lineup when you put them on their own line.

MacKinnon could've won. He also produced while other top players were out of the lineup. That's kind of what this award becomes...did you perform and keep your team on the right track while other key guys were hurt? During the playoffs, you can tell who is the man on that team.
