Bang on. What he did was horrible, but there is a certain degree to kids (man kind) are can be brutel. The fact that people are so shocked that this still happens is also scary. Kids still get bullied big time. We don't know the 100% story I'm sure, but the biggest problem here is that the young man seems to not have any remorse to what he did, which basically means he still has those view points. Not having the ability to learn and grow makes for a dangerous individual.

ya lol if he didn't change when he was at most sensitive growth period (age 14-17) during school and parents under his roof, NHL ain't gonna "help him improve" lol
where do ppl get the idea that some big giant business (NHL) is gonna help a monster become a flower? lol is the nhl gonna assign mitchell some sorta father figure thru his development?

Perhaps they knew all along that they were going to draft him and maybe they asked Chayka to be his big brother and it`s the reason he left?

Yzerman to his credit doesn't have any deals beyond Larkin's that has 3 years left. He's clearing the decks for starting over with any long-term deals and resetting which players will be the highest paid. Larkin is still the highest cap hit at $6.1 million. The last few stinky contracts are winding down to the end. You'd think the economic climate in the league settles down in a couple/three years.

If he wants a second chance to change who he is as a person, it's being denied this chance to play in the NHL and continue playing hockey at UND that may wake him up because clearly nothing else has made a lick of a difference to this kid.
If you can do something as heinous as this, and continue to get what you want, you're never going to learn.

Nice...going to see some college hockey starting next weekend. Michigan is hosting Arizona State. The Big "10" has an agreement for ASU to play non-conference games with their conference teams since they've got an odd number.
Don't get me started on the fact the conference with 14 schools is still called the Big Ten and Notre Dame is part of it in just hockey...
Bottom line, I'm eager to see this exciting Michigan roster in action. One of the better collections of talent they've had in several years.
