He has him on CBS .. did I miss something?
From the research i did, Nick is correct. Based on his active roster and the fact that he was signed or cleared waivers Feb 8th and is a waiver eligible player, he needed to be on his active roster last week. February 14th Roster lock. This is one week past so that player is immediately waived. Since Nick was the first one to point this out I assume we will do the 24 hour thing from the date of the first claim?
But he is in Shiv's minors. I don't see any evidence of Shiv calling up Emery. So what's the problem? He can leave Emery in the minors, untouched.
How is that? I thought any waiver eligible UFA players that sign a contract need to be exposed to waivers? Is there a difference between a FA claim and a waiver drafted UFA player?

what's the point of keeping an unsigned veteran on your roster if he gets waived as soon as he is signed?
shouldn't he be waived as re-entry only if recalled?

uggh... this has been covered enough frigging times.
Well un-signed / not in north american you can put him where ever you want.
Once he signs an NHL contract you have a reasonable time frame to dress, bench, or expose him to waivers -> if he qualifies for waivers...
Emery is not waiver exempt, the ducks exposed him to waivers once he signed (on feb 8th) in order for him to be in the AHL... I think they need to put him on re-entry waivers to get him up.
This is not the first case, there is lots of precedence... Scott recently handled everything exactly as he should have with Foppa. He signed, and moves were made... This is a very logical set of rules.

Nick is correct.. we've discussed this. For future notice.. anyone who has a veteran/waiver eligible player who gets signed.. you have 1 roster lock to recall him freely before we the BBKL team (Admins/CC) will then expose him to waivers for you.

that's good to know.. but during this past off season it was only determined there was one free call up, not that it had to be made within a week from the signing time.

Can non playoff teams go over the 60 player limit now?
Can we drop players directly into the FA pool without waivers to reduce our roster by 1?

There will be a drop period.. but we are raising the roster limits to 67 so I cannot see why non playoff teams cannot go up to that.
