Nick wroteCOLONYep - high cap hit, makes guys hard to move. puts a GM into a spot of (as Lee alluded to), " he's worth more to that to my team" - compared to " what the other 29 GMs are willing to pay".
pretty much, this is the 2nd or 3rd time Jim has come back to me about chara....i cut wiz's contract last week so this essentially replaced it.

i also have a few wingers i may consider moving for young, untapped guys. But we shall see.

that is a not a lie, only two Nash fans in the league making a Nash trade... other aspect is that the league thinks it values Vanek a ton, but does not at all. I've traded him away at least two times for very little, and both times that was after extensive shopping. I'd wager every time Vanek is dealt the peanut gallery says the side that got him won, they would have paid more, etc
I'm sure this isn't a unique situation to Vanek. For me, as valuable as Chara is for BBKL numbers, he's been available since I started here (posted in the original trade block), and nobody has exactly been banging down my door to pick him up. Cap hit, age, potential decline, etc. really limit what anyone seems to want to pay.
Not meant to be a knock but will come across as one.

If this was the rate, even I would be interested, if not just for resale value.

I'm not offended, I'd feel the same. Although, I can be more efficient by targeting players I like in return for players I would move than it is to publicly proclaim values for available players. That's your guys' job to inquire about that stuff, I'll focus on building the future of PHO.

Welcome to BBKL where no one wants your players until you trade them (and then make you feel like an asshole)
