pretty much every week there is a team or 3 that only play 1 or 2 games....

we all have the same chances....

I don't have Buffalo goalies, would just suck having a bunch of Sabres when they don't play this week was all I was saying, but this league's player distribution makes it so no one is hit that hard.

I too have major concerns in a week where a team doesn't play.

Inherited with that is a team in our 30 team league that CANNOT have goalie categories. I agree it's a random draw as to who their opponent is, however (because of our scoring system) the impact is league wide.


It seems to me like there is safety in erring on the side of long weeks rather than short, even if it creates fewer match-ups. This would only be magnified if we proceed to multiple match-ups per week. Ideally every team in the NHL plays the same # of time in each of our scoring periods, creating a fair comparison between teams, however that is clearly not the case, and adds in the team management component of scoring. But just like we only have (roughly) 600NHLers to share across the 30 team league, we also only have 60 active goalies (30 starters roughly) which put real concerns on creating a fair system of roster/gp management.

conversation not argument, I don`t see a solution to this year`s shortened week, but do believe we can learn from it moving forward.


It is not fair to alter the length of this week right now, nor is it fair to decrease the value of this week - but for next season I think it would make sense to target weeks shorter than X (5 or 6) and combine them into one of the sequential weeks.

I was the only one in favour last season, so that would be curious at least. I don't think decisions should depend on who is involved.
