Lee is a smart Gm

nah bro please dont say silly shit like that to patronize urself. You and I tbh are both sub-par level GM when it comes to competing lvl. I'm a modest and humble guy. this is far from me boasting about my own ability i have vs urs. guys like mike steve anton shiv kareem bcools are like once in every 5 yrs type juggernaut GMs. they innovate, take risks and actually succeeds. Theyre a clear tier above us in terms of knowing how to build a competitive team with minimal risks, and FAST.

all i wanted was for u to explain to me what u consider "value" because man, I blew up cuz thats all u go on and on about. I get that while I mostly sound like a nerd raging teenager, i dont see why it's not a valid concern. I seriously dont give a shit about the going young and get picks - type build man you guys constantly misunderstand the core of my argument. It is about GP and thats it.

If your method of direction ur taking ur team to, becomes a hindrance in meeting basic league requirement or ur struggling to meet it on a yearly basis, your method is a fuckin problem. Instead of making it work Lee, I see u more often than not "bitching" about the way CC runs/implement the rules and constantly tries to suggest we make changes. Dont use the contender vulture excuse because we r an open market in a 30 team league. Basically in other words I just stressed a little to eat up a little "value" that u can if it means abiding by the rules without a problem.

I had a question on "value" that Lee goes on about every time particularly and only because of that. Because you never feel your players are losing "value" and apparently other players on other teams are, your always struggling with GP claiming u refuse to "overpay" for these pieces. I joked a bit with arian not to be a crybaby few days ago but thers a bit of truth to it and he understood. Why does a perrenial bottom team like mine never fail to make GP? I (believe) i make reasonable deals to complement my overall direction (b lvl prospect>>> collect>> upgrade to actual impactful but slightly washed up or on the older end of scale nhlers). Next step for me is probably to start collecting picks because im happy with my active nhl roster composition.

He's not really. He can't skate worth a shit. As such he has horrible gap control, constantly turns the puck over in his own end, takes bad penalties at bad times. All of which applies to Grossmann as well btw and McDonald is just...LOL! Problem is the Flyers have a collection of 4-5 #6-#7 dmen and he is the odd man out right now as everyone is healthy.

Well, I never argued he was anything more than a bottom pairing guy.

I'm just saying his play this year has been pretty decent and much better than Grossman or MacDonald, both of which he deserves to be in the lineup over.

Essentially... all of my players are gaining value at this point in their careers. Minus my few older guys like Erat. There lies the problem. Matteau is more valuable to me because I know what he can become, rather than what he currently is.

I have no problem losing value in trades as long as the player fits my current build. I will pay up for guys like Nino, Killorn, Granlund, etc, which I have done this season. I will not pay for guys like Guenin, who is what he is, a marginal fringe NHLer.

If you want to pay for those guys, who am I to stop you. I won't be paying for them.

Hence my proposal to Kyle. He offered McBain, who I view as a fringe NHLer. I like Schenn so I offered to pay more. He doesn't want to move him, which is fair.

And I'm saying they are all about the same really. Grossmann is a vet and someone they are trying to increase value to trade and MacDonald is a better puck mover by default which is why he plays over him.

Grossman is even less mobile than schenn and MacDonald's just been fucking atrocious. You put schenn with someone who can move the puck and he's OK out there.

I remember when be was paired with kimmo a couple seasons back and they were pretty solid together.

Oh well.

exactly

i guess we know a bit more about schenn cuz we knew him as a leaf. WYSWYG with him we dont label him elite or great by any means, but we know where he belongs/what hes capable of

also on that note we learned about MacDonald and how bad he is lol

Everyone is solid that is paired with Timmo. Grossmann was too as was MacDonald for a time. Doesn't make him any better than the other 2.

Schenn has actually gotten worse since he was a Leaf.

I suppose. Hopefully they can at least move Grossmann at the deadline. Good bet both Schenn's are out of Philly in the off season too.

Grossman sucks at hockey and should be in the AHL if not ECHL
