When you have buckets of cap space, its not a huge concern.

if we're breaking it down like that i wouldn't trade 6 Pirri's for Statsny
so ya, i'd say cost doesn't play much of a role here. Cap also isn't an issue for me going into next year, so i dont feel the need to move Statsny, but if i move a Center he'll be the one as i have 7.

Really not some astronomical gap between Simmonds and Strome for me, like Simmonds, Strome is one of those across the board contributors. They are pretty comparable all down the statline this season, Simmonds hits more, but you get SHTOI with Strome and some winger face-offs. And then when you factor in age and contracts theres just no way the difference between the two in a top 10 pick and a blue-chip prospect.

Darkness, if you want to complain about someone wanting their cake and eating it too, here you go.

When comparing Stastny and Pirri I see a significant better player being compared to a much lesser one. Contracts aren't a consideration in that comparison.
When comparing what I see in two players who don't have a huge gap in value, contracts do become something to consider. Especially one as productive as Strome on an ELC.
Don't see why that is such a foreign concept to appreciate.

There's lots of guys who want their cake and eat it too. That honestly wasn't a shot at you just a general assessment of some of the guys on here. I'm surprised a lot of guys aren't in sales with some of the pitches they throw out there and see why Steve says he talks to like maybe 7 guys on here lol

Cap isn't a concern until it is, depending on your stance. Not a chance I'd trade Strome for Stastny.

i didn't ask for strome? also not sure why you're bringing my offer into this. It literally has nothing to do with anyone elses offer in this thread.

Con - Not as many GMs who like to make trades and make 30+ per season
Pro - Not as many GMs who make bad trades allowing the rich to get richer
Definitely different with the new GMs added in the last year, but I think the league is gaining a little parity.
