I realize we aren't allowed to post trades at this point; however, I will negotiate with folks, and enter into transactions simply by giving my word that I shall 100 percent go through with any agreed upon trade after our playoffs. I'd expect that of my trade partner too.

The CC needs to bring back trading for non-playoff and eliminated teams. It would certainly increase the activity on these boards.

Ah yes, my favorite annual debate...to trade or not to trade during the playoffs. Do we always forget we have a 5-month offseason and when the NHL season finally ends, we still have over a month to make moves before we do our draft.

Nothing stops you guys from negotiating deals...they just can't be made official until our playoffs end.

For me, I look at this as the time to chill out and let the playoff teams duke it out and I start giving a crap again when the Stanley Cup playoffs roll around and we can start our offseason and we gear up for the draft.

so let the teams that want to trade do it and those that want to take a break do that too. no one is forcing you to trade, but those who want to trade are being g forced not to.

On the bright side, Lee and Steve whining about not being able to trade leads to a flurry of BBKL activity!

No one says you can't post blocks and negotiate deals...you can basically make deals without making actual deals.

And no one is saying that you have to do that. If you don't want to trade, then you aren't missing out on anything. Go enjoy your beers and friends and stuff.

Don't get me wrong...I'm completely neutral on the topic. I'm not saying it shouldn't be discussed but we can make trades the other 47 weeks of the year. We have this temporary trade freeze every year...from our trade deadline to the end of our playoffs/end of the NHL regular season. Frankly, I can take it or leave it. We're not missing the most prime time to make deals. I know a few of you guys would love get rolling on building for next season.

Yeah, I don't even bother bringing it up unless someone else mentions it. It's bullshit and no one in management cares enough to do anything about it. I guess it helps when management is all in the playoffs still. We need some shit team representation.

No doubt these next three weeks will be slow for us less-than teams. 26 teams are sitting around twiddling our thumbs while the league title gets hashed out.
