30 - CAR (-2) - GP is an issue right now, but for the first time I can remember CAR is building towards the future although it will be a slow climb from the bottom.
biggest surprise - Pitlick
biggest letdown - Winnik
29 - ARI (+1) - Another team plagued by GP issues there are a lot of nice pieces, but still a long way to get back to respectability.
biggest surprise - Werenski
biggest letdown - Callahan
28 - DET (+1) - Has shown some improvement and TJ should see a bump in stats with Stamkos out. Still has work to do to avoid a bottom 3 finish.
biggest surprise - Dowd
biggest letdown - Lee
27 NJD (-1) - Moves that have been made are definitely geared towards the future at the expense of this season. Nothing wrong with this and have liked the new direction.
biggest surprise - Grabner (when he had him)
biggest letdown - Ward
26 DAL (-2) - You would think with Crosby's return this team should be on the rise, but they still have the 29th ranked skaters and seem to want to continue to sit on futures and bide their time. Eventually this team can be a competitor and has the assets to do so, but will they ever change gears and build for the present.
biggest surprise - B Tanev
biggest letdown - Connor
25 CBJ (-) - The usually elite STL goaltending has been below average causing this team to continue to be on the outside of the playoff picture.
biggest surprise - Konecny
biggest letdown - McLeod
24 CHI (+3) - A quick glance at this roster and it seems out of place surrounded by these other teams, but the results still aren't there. Still time to charge up the West standings or will we see the first ever Shiv rebuild?
biggest surprise - Rinne
biggest letdown - Ladd/Abdelkader/Muzzin/Eriksson
23 PIT (-1) - When your leading scorer is 4th liner Panik you know your offence isn't great. Another team building towards the future and the drop off has been pretty severe this year compared with last.
biggest surprise - Panik
biggest letdown - Cammalleri
22 WPG (-2) - With no forwards in double digit points this team is underperforming right now. Finally made the upgrade in goal paying a steep price, but is CBJ really as good of a system as they look right now?
biggest surprise - Engelland
biggest letdown - Colborne/Smith
21 NYR (-) - A team with high end pieces continues to suffer from lack of depth and surrounding them with players that don't produce much. Trying to move some of their producing vets for help, but hasn't happened yet.
biggest surprise - Scheifele
biggest letdown - Jenner
20 SJS (-1) - Hard to win when you have the 30th ranked goaltending, but with 18th ranked skaters all the blame can't be on the goalies. Lots of depth players, but lacks the high end guys.
biggest surprise - Skjei
biggest letdown - Lehtera
19 OTT (+4) - Likely the oldest team in BBKL by a large margin this team has been getting production out of his vets, but is still a middle of the road type team. Winning is always more fun then losing and they can surprise any team in a week.
biggest surprise - E Staal
biggest letdown - Williams
18 EDM (-2) - One of the few BBKL teams that are all offence and no periphs. 6th in points yet still ranked all the way down at 17th for skater stats. It will be becoming increasingly difficult to win matchups unless he outscores every team and continues to get good goaltending which is a ? with BUF.
biggest surprise - Nilsson
biggest letdown - Sheahan
17 PHI (-4) - Similar bid to EDM, but skaters down at 19th. Gets the edge despite weaker offence due to far superior goaltending. Still a strong chance at the playoffs, but bad stats can't all be blamed on injuries with teams like COL, ANA, BOS and VAN putting up better stats with the same amount of GP.
biggest surprise - Marchesseault
biggest letdown - Boedker
16 COL (+1) - Still a strong team due to taking over a powerhouse team in the West. Has made moves that have weakened the team to try and add futures, but still likely enough left over to win more then they lose
biggest surprise - Anisimov
biggest letdown - Virtanen
15 ANA (+3) - I can comfortably say this is the high point for ANA. MIN goaltending being good isn't a surprise, but if anyone said ANA would have the 15th ranked skaters or be ranked 15th in week 7 power rankings they would have been laughed at. Lack of depth and injuries will start to take it's toll, but this has been a great start.
biggest surprise - Wennberg
biggest letdown - Carr
14 MTL (-) - Consistently solid team that knows how to identify BBKL talent and build productive teams. Doesn't quite have the horses anymore to compete at the top as evidenced by their 13th ranked skaters, but still a team to worry about that can upset any of the teams ranked above them.
biggest surprise - Talbot
biggest letdown - McClement
13 TBL (-1) This team is starting to resemble a stars and scrubs build that is very top heavy. One of the top forward groups and one of the worst defence groups. The D lack the normal defensive stats GMs count on so they rely on needing to outscore their opponents although they have better periphs then teams like EDM and PHI.
biggest surprise - K Hayes
biggest letdown - Duclair
12 NYI (-2) Tony is one of the best at identifying undervalued and underappreciated players and building a team to compete despite limited assets to work with. Signs are pointing to this build slowing down, but I have thought that for years and he manages to prove me wrong.
biggest surprise - Manning
biggest letdown - Doan/Marleau
11 FLA (-) Dominating SHTOI and FOs this team is built to win certain cats every week making it easier to reliably win when all they need is one of good goaltending or offence to usually win. With the predictability of some of their stats and their solid skaters they are a tough matchup to see on the schedule since getting more G/A/PT/SOG/STPTs against them can still result in a lopsided loss.
biggest surprise - Frolik
biggest letdown - Soderberg
10 BOS (-3) Lack of depth is starting to prove difficult to overcome and this team although still a top 10 team is starting to fall off a bit and if it wasn't for Rask putting up elite stats better than Price the record would look even worse since they only boast the 14th ranked skaters right now.
biggest surprise - N Foligno
biggest letdown - Spooner
9 VAN (+6) The big riser over the last two weeks this team has been putting up big stats and surging up the West standings. Goaltending has been a strength and they have avoided the 0GP weeks and the team is another one built with players who will predictably put up solid stats across the board.
biggest surprise - Vasilevskiy
biggest letdown - Reinhart
8 MIN (-3) The last two weeks weren't MINs best, but don't let his talking down about his team fool you as this is still a very strong lineup. A big issue right now is his leading scorer is a 3-way tie of 13 pts between Ovechkin/Tavares/Toffoli and all three need to perform better.
biggest surprise - Matheson
biggest letdown - Mark Stone
7 NSH (+2) The cream of the crop when it comes to the teams that prioritize offence over periphs, but this year it's the goaltending that's sewering him. It will likely regress to more average levels, but right now they can't be ranked any higher with how poor the goaltending is.
biggest surprise - Eaves
biggest letdown - Kuznetsov/Larkin
6 CGY (-2) Has come down to earth a bit after a blazing hot start this team is still solid top to bottom as long as you ignore the goaltending. Tough to see teams like NSH and CGY get such awful goaltending, but they are still top teams based on all the other stats they put up and goaltending is unpredictable.
biggest surprise - Weber
biggest letdown - Girgensons
5 STL (+3) No one had this team as a top 5 team and they probably don't stay here, but for now they definitely deserve it. The skaters are about as productive as NSH and CGY but the goaltending has made the difference so far.
biggest surprise - Radulov
biggest letdown - Krug
4 LAK (+2) As much as he tries to convince people he is in a rebuild I don't consider adding elite young players to be a rebuild. Not as strong as past LAK teams, but still a force to be reckoned with and a team no one would be surprised to see come out of the West.
biggest surprise - Miller
biggest letdown - Brodie
3 WSH (-) Still elite stats, but got beat a few times in the last couple weeks and now is going through some injury troubles that will put his team to the test. Might not be a BBKL contender just yet, but based on the start of the season it's hard to argue he isn't a top 3 team.
biggest surprise - Martinez
biggest letdown - Pacioretty
2 TOR (-) Mike's team is good, everyone knows it's good, it will be good for a long time. It also seems the most beatable it has been in years and there seems to be a little more parity towards the top with Mike's team actually having weak spots and not an all star team.
biggest surprise - JVR
biggest letdown - Bergeron/Tatar
1 BUF (-) I probably didn't deserve #1 last ranking and did it more for fun, but I made a stronger case over the last 2 weeks beating CGY and WAS and putting a gap in the standings between myself and 2nd place WAS. Offence has been a little low compared to the other top teams with some players off to slow starts, but periphs are among the best and if goaltending starts being good it should be a good year.
biggest surprise - Gudas
biggest letdown - Kane

According to fantrax team stats I am 9th.
You can say dubnyk will come back to earth, but back to earth for him is still elite since he joined Minny in Jan, 2015:
.928
2.07
66-40-12
14 so
He is 2nd in the NHL in the top 3 categories in that time period and 1st in Shutouts. And in bbkl goalies (1 player) is responsible for 4 categories, while the other 18 skaters are responsible for only 12 categories. Hence, in this league goalies are incredibly valuable and very much responsible for a teams ranking...far more than any other player.
But with the subtractions of oduya, Richardson's and zetterberg I'll probably fall in the rankings. And honestly I'd rank me 15th too.
I do appreciate your rankings. Thanks!
EDIT: to answer Ur question id probably put me ahead of Tampa. His defense suck and goaltending is pretty bleh.

I like the surprise and letdown...bang on with both guys for my squad.
Dowd has been a very pleasant surprise. He's putting up points and he's tied with the most hits amongst centers. He's fit into the #3 center spot behind Johnson and Trocheck.
Lee has definitely been a big disappointment but that can said but the Islanders in general. Speaking of hits...that's Lee's only category of note this year. He was part of the deal that involved Bennett...I obviously expected more. Braun has been useful at least.
