Is it? It's always slow towards the end of the Summer. We just had a 7 round entry draft and got done pretty quick with no one going MIA.bills09 wroteCOLONLolol let him challenge it. Take it to the CC.
This league is dying
I mean, when people can't even follow the rules they set in their own block, the problem likely is singular to one person in this case vs a league problem.bills09 wroteCOLONLolol let him challenge it. Take it to the CC.

Well, in court, my bid would hold up because it wasn't late. In fact, it was the last eligible bid in before Bills closed the auction. Beyond that obvious point, the offer posted at 8:57 est by Dave was arguable about equal to my wining bid. As such, a suit would have a difficult time moving forward based on those facts. My bid was not late, and it was the last and arguably best bid posted.Da_Hawks wroteCOLONIn my line of work, this how people get sued.bills09 wroteCOLONMeh. The auction was a great idea - I enjoyed following it. You just fucked up in selecting the correct bid.
Really, the trade posted should be challenged by CBJ. You're lucky if he lets it go.
Your bid was posted at 9:18am EST. That makes it late. Trust me, I am an expert when it comes to timing in this league.Brian wroteCOLONWell, in court, my bid would hold up because it wasn't late. It's changed for sure. Trading isn't as wild, but that's also due to a big increase in the quality of GMs. It's frustrating we have so many GMs that only make trades they see as a definite win instead of the player movement of year's past. Steve not being as active and not having active traders like Lee, Nick and Shiv in the league makes it different. I think we are also as competitive as ever, with the least amount of brutally terrible rosters we have ever had and I think we have 32 active GMs, but ya "active" doesn't equal the amount of trades and posts as we have had in the past.bills09 wroteCOLONMatt as a long time member you can’t honestly say this league is even close to it’s former self.
No, it wasn't. It was posted at 9:18am EDT.Da_Hawks wroteCOLONYour bid was posted at 9:18am EST. That makes it late. Not to be a pain in the ass, but it's not semantics. Had he posted the auction close at "9am Eastern Friday morning" the argument would be more about the meaning of the timing and my bid would have been arguably late. However, because he specified EST, my position is technically correct, and therefore the bid was in on time.Bruyns wroteCOLONSemantics, it was 9:18 in Billy's time zone and 18min past his intended closing time. Doesn't matter though, Billy and one of Dave/Brian were going to be happy and the other upset. He ended up going for more than I expected anyways with the contract he has.
Compliant to the timing, but also entered after Bills had posted that the auction was closed, and not demonstrably better than my "winning" bid.Da_Hawks wroteCOLONIn that case, the CBJ bid should also be compliant, no? As it was posted 9:57 EST.
Ya he accepted an inferior offer, I would have contacted you both in PM and say make your final best offer and I will take the best one. I'm greedy and if I know a better offer was made 18min late I'm taking it anyways, but not sure why he didn't take the 2022 3rd + 4th, maybe just didn't see it in time. Nothing in the CBA that auction deadlines are definitive, it's usually just used to get a best return possible for someone you are 100% moving usually to cut cap.dave1959 wroteCOLONi also posted a bid after that.
Do you really think he meant 10AM or 9AM for his local time zone? He obviously meant 9AM, he used a wrong acronym so seems silly to argue over that.Brian wroteCOLONNot to be a pain in the ass, but it's not semantics. Which, if we follow what I assume would be standard auction rules, would not be permitted. You set a time of 9am, it closes exactly at that time.Brian wroteCOLONCompliant to the timing, but also entered after Bills had posted that the auction was closed, and not demonstrably better than my "winning" bid.Da_Hawks wroteCOLONIn that case, the CBJ bid should also be compliant, no?
