A defensive defenceman who struggles on the PK is not "irreplaceable."

A defensive defenseman who's 22-years old and struggling with one facet of the game isn't always exclusively replaceable, Kareem. Might want to check out how Doughty, Bogosian, and Myers are doing as well.

Bogosian is kicking ass... though he was the last of the 4 to do so.

Doughty and Myers are on different plateaus, I would take both in a struggling season over Schenn at his best. Both defenceman contribute at both ends of the ice, and can keep up with the play, Schenn's inability to skate at an above average level is likely what will prevent him from ever realizing his potential.
Bogosian is having a career season this year, so I'm not entirely sure how he fits into all of this.

ill trade schenn for any top 6 forward who's under 30 without question.
the "HE'S ONLY 22 AND STILL DEVELOPING THINK ABOUT WHAT WE CAN BEEEEEEEE!!!!1" argument does not affect me in the slightest.
by nature of his playing style, luke schenn is a low ceiling player. he is not going to suddenly sprout offensive skills and incredible vision. even if he were to hit his ultimate ceiling, what does that make him? adam foote? habs-era komisarek?
even if schenn were to reach his ultimate peak, he'd still be replaceable.

Bogosian has been terrible. In fact, Nick holds two defensemen in the top-ten of being on the ice for a goal against. In fact, Bogosian and Fowler are two of the worst defensemen in terms of playing well... defense. Might want to retract that statement Nick. You're looking like a huge homer.

Bingo!
I dont want to give the wrong impression, i like Schenn, but I think he's moveable and probably holds the most value (other than Dion) out of all of our dman. IMO when someone has the trade value of schenn and he really can't be relied on you gotta move him for an upgrade at another position. Especially since we are pretty deep on the backend.

Man have you watched Bogosian at all this season?
To be clear, big minute d-men on struggling teams who have no team defence are on for goals against. Guess I should go fill my lineup with bruins and canucks.

So good, he's been on the ice for more goals than he's scored, sports one of the most ineffective PK% in the NHL, and offensively, completely unreliable.
Yup, he's been excellent.

Well your metrics show that Schenn is an "irreplaceable" defenceman, and he's already been passed on the depth charts by Keith Aulie...
