No can do, still love Hags...

Surprised Hagelin had that hit on a Swedish legend but he was very apologetic about it and you can even see the way he reacted after it happened that he was surprised it happened. It happens often when a player expects to go shoulder-to-shoulder and the other guy either ducks or starts to fall you can make contact with the head. Hagelin is a very honest player going back to his days at Michigan...that's not like him head hunt and especially a guy he probably admired growing up. It would be like him hitting Nick Lidstrom...you don't lay out hockey royalty from your homeland.

I really dunno man, in my opinion (and trying to remain objective) Alfredsson neither ducked, nor fell, Hagelin came at him with the elbow up the whole way and finished his check with the elbow remaining up.

Yeah, I saw a few more looks at it...appears Hagelin got the flipper up. He'll get a game for it if Alfredsson isn't out for Game 3.

I disagree with this lol. Yes he finished on the head and yes he should be suspended but the elbow came up when he thought he was going to miss. Dirty as fack, but he didnt have the malicious intent going into that hit like you're making it sound. I think 1 or 2 games is sufficient considering Keith got 5 for a worse hit that was also in reg season where suspensions tend to be longer. Hopefully for your sake though josh you dont loose alfy for the season like we lost dank.

He hit Alfie hard, he shouldn't be getting suspended, he should be getting a hefty raise.

I didn't make it sound like there was malicious intent. The replay shows Hagelin coming into the hit with his elbow up. Not saying he was trying to destroy the head, but its your responsibility as hockey player to keep the elbow down, or else you will be punished. Intentional or otherwise he delivered an elbow to the head.

Hmm... I don't see how Neal isn't at least fined... And yet he was still the best penguin. The couturier hit was puzzling... But then he continued head hunting.. Don't want him out for game 4 though, he's got a bell to answe.

Embarrassing for Malkin and Sidney... IMO, punching guys already tied up by a teammates and/or ref. I know there is bs in the non-calls, Crosby is getting cross checked an punched every shift... But so is giroux/ovy/any star to some extent.

It's amazing how competitive the playoffs are - I cannot think of anything that compares to this level. What would you do to win the cup? Lots of these players apparently would do anything, end justifies the means.

I'm already trolling people over at HF, but I don't think the Neal hit on Couturier is as bad as people are making it out to be. It was a bit late, but he won't get a suspension.

Both teams lost their composure, Pittsburgh moreso, but what do you expect? The series was already chippy and the Penguins just got crushed in back to back games. The Refs should have gotten control of the game in the first period, it was obvious where the game was going once the Flyers started to get a sizeable lead.
