it sort of all evens out. the issues with the leafs have been drafting and developing players. Too many misses at the draft as of late. JFJ had a few good years at the draft but then those players have all left or have been traded now.

This is a clean slate for Shanny and company. I'm banking on the leafs firing Morrison and company and replacing them with Hunter and his scouts. These next 2 or 3 drafts are musts for the leafs and the success of this team.

Morrison is pure garbage and passed on some good talent in recent drafts. Even us as average hockey fans wouldn't have made those same mistakes. If i remember correctly that idiot took Kenny Ryan over Tatar (or jurco - i can't remember), and half of us on here were beside ourselves. Traded 2 high picks to move up and draft Biggs.

Last year they went complete retard outside of Nylander and Valiev (whom by many was considered too high at the time). Morrisson spent all last year scouting USHS players. .

The leafs do have some nice players coming up in the system in: Finn, Loov, Brown, Leivo, Granberg (maybe) and Carrick (maybe). But none of those guys has star potiential. The only star (maybe) in the leafs system is Nylander.

Then you look across and see what Detriot has going on and wonder what the heck the leafs have been doing on these scouting trips. Either Morrison needs glasses or he can't seem to grasp what makes an NHL player

Rask was a couple years earlier, Jared Knight was the other player in that deal who luckily has turned out to be a bust for 32 overall or that would for sure be a historically bad trade. With what Boston received for Seguin the deal doesn't seem that bad now for what the Bruins ended up with, but Seguin and Hamilton are easily worth more than Kessel.

I know. I put the 2 Boston deals into 1 deal and erased everyone that ended up as nothing.

How long before you guys feel Toronto will be a legitimate contending team? IMO Kessel will be past his prime by that point. May as well get the Most possible return on him while he is at his best. If you can grab 3 young talented prospects to develop with Nylander + this years first, that will be far better 3 years from now.

But meh, I'm a Toronto Hater. so whatever they do is fine with me, cuz I'm always pretty confident these days their management will mess it up.

i guess we'll have to see what his return is. If it's strong enough then i forsure can see him traded. If not, i think they'll just go with him.
