meh, every team makes good and bad deals.Matthew wroteCOLONWhich is worse?
Vancouver trades Cam Neely for Nothing
Or
Toronto trades Seguin, Hamilton for Kessel
Two bad packages of deals. The bruins rob Canadian teams.
Rask was a couple years earlier, Jared Knight was the other player in that deal who luckily has turned out to be a bust for 32 overall or that would for sure be a historically bad trade. With what Boston received for Seguin the deal doesn't seem that bad now for what the Bruins ended up with, but Seguin and Hamilton are easily worth more than Kessel.Matthew wroteCOLONWhich is worse?

i woudln't trade kessel in this rebuild. You can't replace him.Bruyns wroteCOLONRask was a couple years earlier, Jared Knight was the other player in that deal who luckily has turned out to be a bust for 32 overall or that would for sure be a historically bad trade. Completely agree since we need a scoring W to pair with McDavidThe BBKL Insider wroteCOLON i woudln't trade kessel in this rebuild. You can't replace him.
I know. I put the 2 Boston deals into 1 deal and erased everyone that ended up as nothing.Bruyns wroteCOLONRask was a couple years earlier, Jared Knight was the other player in that deal who luckily has turned out to be a bust for 32 overall or that would for sure be a historically bad trade. who knows, Vegas will win a cup before the leafsMatthew wroteCOLONHow long before you guys feel Toronto will be a legitimate contending team? IMO Kessel will be past his prime by that point. May as well get the Most possible return on him while he is at his best. If you can grab 3 young talented prospects to develop with Nylander + this years first, that will be far better 3 years from now.
But meh, I'm a Toronto Hater. so whatever they do is fine with me, cuz I'm always pretty confident these days their management will mess it up.
Which is why I think Kessel wont help you win a Cup. Past his Prime by that Time, so Trade him for the most possible while in his prime?Arian The Insider wroteCOLONLegitimate contenders? Who knows. Rebuilds take longer than people think because prospects don't normally come in and play at a decent level right away. If they bring in some value trading away these fucks, draft well, and make a few SMART signings, hopefully we can see a team with playoff ability in 4 years. With the potential to contend after that.
i guess we'll have to see what his return is. If it's strong enough then i forsure can see him traded. If not, i think they'll just go with him.Matthew wroteCOLONWhich is why I think Kessel wont help you win a Cup. Traded the pick to the CanesMatthew wroteCOLONOff Topic, but it just occurred to me that if LA misses the playoffs, they could win McDavid. That'd be a little messed up.
