From BBKL Insider:
If im the GM of the leafs this is how i see it:
Holland could replace kadri (call me crazy but i actually think he's as skilled - he's a better skater, stronger, drives to the net) but he doesn't have the hands or kadri's playmaking ability yet...that will come.
I disagree....you can get better at skating and get stronger, and teach driving to the net. You can't teach hands and playmaking, you either have it or you don't

The Toronto Maple Leafs are looking to a hometown great to boost their front office.
TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie reports that Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Chief Executive Officer Tim Leiweke has reached out to NHL Director of Player Safety Brendan Shanahan in regards to a "top hockey operations position" with the Maple Leafs.
Shanahan, a Mimico, Ont. native, has held various executive roles with the League since retiring from hockey in 2009.
Mimico is a neighbourhood and former municipality located in the west end of the City of Toronto.
From Dec. 2009 through 2011 he served as the NHL's Vice President of Hockey and Business Development. Since then he has taken on the League's top disciplinarian role, leading a crackdown on hits to the head and enforcing the League's concussion protocol.
An eight-time NHL All-Star, Shanahan sits 13th all-time on the NHL's goal-scoring list with 656. He won three Stanley Cups - in 1997, 1998 and 2002 - all with Detroit, as well as an Olympic Gold Medal with the 2002 Canadian men's hockey team.
He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2013.

sounds like another job MLSE will overpay someone to do, and essentially do nothing.

All the Reimer hate boggles my mind. Whoever has Reimer on their team, feel free to trade him to PHX when he is inevitably (apparently) moved from the Leafs.

i can't stand reimer, and i'm quite vocal about it. He's inconsistant, awful with rebounds, and has no confidence.

Except when he plays against the Sens, then he's unbeatable.

After playing infrequently all year, being snubbed of a #1 job after (almost) single-handedly leading the Leafs to an over-achieving playoff appearance the year before, while playing for a coach that clearly favours the new guy and implements a system that hangs him out to dry most games he does get an appearance in? I'm not surprised if he's inconsistent and lacks confidence.
The guy was stellar 12 months ago, essentially just as stellar as Bernier has been this year

1. I don't want Bolland back
2. Reimer is a solid goalie --> it's unfortunate but he will be someone else's solid goalie

i've actually never thought he was that good, too inconsistant to be a 1A goalie in the NHL, but that's just my opinion.

The reason you think that is because Reimer's style directly conflicts with the Leafs' defensive weakness: puck retrieval. His SV% is solid which means he can stop the puck. His SV% on second chance opportunities is also solid. His rebound control is poor but a d-core that knows how to clean up in front can neutralize that weakness and reap the benefits of the first two strong points.
Reimer on a different team would look a lot different.

this
reimer is a solid starter and many people forget he kept us in a lot of games last year to get us into the post season for the first time in years. just the wrong team/system for him.

Sorry Jim, but I'm a fan of Reimer's and won't be selling him at the low point of his career. The Sabre's crease is an organizational strength right now with Bernier, Reimer and Gibson. You can have Brodeur though, he is a surefire 1st ballot HOFer so that means he's good and worth a lot right?

i actually hope reimer has a bounce back year some place else. He has one of those faces you just can't hate, but when he puts the mask on and covers up that baby face, i begin to hate.
