yeah... so that not only all the GMs out of the playoffs would only care about trading and the trades that get posted... also GMs involved in the playoffs would end up focusing on trades instead of the ongoing playoffs. You must be literally retarded if you can't focus on something other than one thing for more than 5 minutes. It takes maximum 10 minutes to research and set your line up. There's what, 6 hours of games a day. Maybe. As others have said, those not in the playoffs likely don't care about them. That leaves 17 hours and 50 minutes a day. 8 hours for work. 8 hours for sleep.50 minutes for a rub and tug.

There, you have an hour to focus on bbkl trades. At minimum, because you probably arrive a little early.... For work, of course.

Make your trades and announce them after the playoffs. What is the difference? Because you're worried you're going to rape somebody and then they'll back out after talking to other GM's?

So stop making stupid rules? We've allowed playoff trading in the past and it has worked. The NHL allows it and we strive for parity. No one is saying playoff teams can't trade but it's a line put in every argument against playoff trading.

Not being able to trade leads to less people wanting to talk trade because they can't trade.

I wont even lie, that's certainly my own reasoning for supporting Lee's point, yes

you guys all talk too much.

The only benefit to making deals during the remainder of the season is for GP because non-playoff teams still need to ice a lineup. We've got a long enough offseason to make all the deals you want otherwise. Plus, we've got the draft(s) and the moves that come with that. There's plenty of time to do what you want with your team heading into October.

I still don't understand why people just can't wait until after the postseason is done to post the trades.

I dont want to read all of this. When is the deadline?

Not being able to trade for gp during the playoffs is an added benefit to the trade freeze imo

no doubts, having open trades would mean not processing them on fantrax till the end of the season because of that reason..

Pretty sure the only reason lee wants trades posted is due to working on trade only to not have a gm back out due to waiting so long...which can be a pain in the ass.

I don't think it's a big deal not trading during the playoffs; however, a solution could be posting/confirmation and then immediately locking the trade thread so no commenting will take place. Thus keeping a focus on the playoffs.

From what I can see, you haven't made a trade since December 10th. So clearly you have the capabilities of going long periods of time without trading. Discuss trades all you want, they just won't be official until the season is over. Hopefully you trust the GM you're negotiating with.
