It's 7 + 3 or 8 skaters so that wouldn't work with 4D protected.

By the time expansion rolls around Theodore won't be exempt, and you can only protect 3 dmen.Fraser wroteCOLONProtected

D - Kronwall, Moore

I would be pretty fine. Got a lot of exempt rookies/sophomores.
now that would be a disaster, will have to use the 8 skaters backup option I guessThe BBKL Insider wroteCOLONI actually read 7 forwards, 3 defense, 1 goalie.
Should be our current waiver rules. This is fantasy. We can't always mimic the NHL. Not in a 30 team league.bills09 wroteCOLONShould be a certain amount of pro Gp imo
Christ. Doughty Trouba and Theo get protected. Edler and Tanev dealtMatthew wroteCOLONBy the time expansion rolls around Theodore won't be exempt, and you can only protect 3 dmen.Fraser wroteCOLONProtected

Really ugly for a few of us with deep teams, luciky we are all in the same situation and we only lose 1 player from our team.kyuss wroteCOLONnow that would be a disaster, will have to use the 8 skaters backup option I guessThe BBKL Insider wroteCOLONI actually read 7 forwards, 3 defense, 1 goalie.
P.S. oww man this is going to get ugly for me
maybe put a limit? 19 games played or less in the AHL/NHL in 2014/15 and that player is exempt.thom54 wroteCOLONWe don't have to follow word for word necessarily ...
This is almost exactly what Bill Daly said. He said they didn't want a 'repeat of the Atlanta Thrashers' Where that team had a grand total of 39 points in it's first season. They are trying to avoid a team full of 3rd/4th liners.Shoalzie wroteCOLONI'm sure they're being looser with the eligibility rules to create a bigger pool of players that can be protected/drafted. It's kind of a given that every team is going lose something of value in this process. This new team will be a lot more competitive right away compared to other expansion teams. I'm sure the NHL doesn't want their new shiny Vegas team to win 10 games the first season.
yup, I'm actually pretty happy some of my prospects didn't make the jump to the AHL last season and stayed in junior or overseas. I believe the only guy that would be close for me anyway would be Ben Hutton.thom54 wroteCOLONand it would favour certain players (SHL, DHL, KHL) guys and hurt AHL'ers
