Good contract.
Probably asking for too much, tho. Probably should just take the best offer.
I had to do that for suter, but the single decent prospect I got is doing well now.
No, people just won’t make offers
I’ve asked for a downgrade, blue chip prospect and a first
If I can’t grt thet for a guy that put up the numbers he put up last year and then again so far this year then yah, I’ll just keep him...
Like you said, good player on a great contract
Don't take this the wrong way, but good luck in this limited market. You have a perfect storm working against you.
- He's about to start the backside of his career
- Like 90% of the league in a rebuilder/tanker mode
- Lack of teams with cap space to add him that can actually use him
- Even less teams with a need and the assets you require for him. The few that do have them don't need him or are detrimental to their cause.
It's a shame, but that's the market we are in right now.

Too bad there isn't a retention feature. That would open up a huge market!

This is true. I like the idea of retention. It would be easy to implement.
Although I think that if we implemented retention in our league a gm would only be able to retain for 1 or 2 seasons on contracts, and have a very limited number of contracts to do it Upon. Similar to how we can only trade draft picks 2 years in advance, so as not to leave any new gm strapped to an old gms choices for too long. Maybe only for players over a certain age too?
Yandle has 4 or 5 years left on his contract.
