As I just said.. Do you really think I care about Jokinen? There's a reason why I moved him. I used him to prove a point that Hossa isn't as far ahead of Jokinen as seemingly everyone else believes. Hossa is just a sexy name.anton wroteCOLONfor the good of the league, i really think we should insist that lee actually watch hockey
Because he's not eligible to play anywhere other that the WHL or the NHL?MadarameIkakku83 wroteCOLONthats a pretty awful trade... marincin looks to have potential but lets face it hes having a great year in the whl, not the ahl, or the nhl, its THE WHL, there is so many things that could go wrong for him and you really will be kicking yourself if he doesnt work out... there really was no reason for you to make that trade, as stated earlier you got trigger happy and the pieces you added are not even half of what you could have gotten at the draft next year... having siad that, ive made some really bad trades in the past, the odds are stacked against you winning this one in the long run or the short, but i hope the pieces you got turn out better than that 1st, dont mean to heap more shit on the pile, just sayin...
1) I completely understand trade value. Value to me as a rebuilding club versus value to you as a contending club is different. Having 3 NHL forwards will get me what... 4th last place? I'm quivering with excitement. I'm rebuilding my team in another fashion, not spending years sitting outside of the playoffs, but outside of the top 5. Instead, I'm out of the playoffs, out of the top 5, but with a prospect pool that I believe in going forward.SuperMario wroteCOLONI am shocked the Lee does not understand the concept of trade value. Forget stats:
1) He trades 1st Overall + many other things for a return that is far inferior to what 1st overall has gotten in the past.
2) He insists that Jokinen is close to Hossa statistically. Let's assume he is right. Jokinen and Hossa are not even on the same planet when it comes to trade value.
Value in the league is the issue. Had you traded for 3 NHL forwards you could of returned even more prospects than you did return. Yes you got some good prospects back, but history dictates those picks go for ridiculous prices in our league near the draft. The simple truth is you didn't maximize the value any way you want to break it down. If you want to say you wanted more depth, you didn't address it as well as you could of. 3 NHLers could of broken down into many more prospects. The prospects you picked have high potenial I agree, but at the same time none of them are top blue chippers either. Given first overall to about half the people in this league and I guarantee they would of returned your very same prospects plus at least 5 other notable ones. Simply you lost that trade, till you realize it, it won't be the last one either.Kezia wroteCOLON1) I completely understand trade value. 2) Drop the Jokinen thing, clearly we have different opinions. People need to stop harping on every damned thing that goes on in here. Go get a blow job or something. It's a hockey pool for christs sake.
When you're the only one on one side of the argument while 29 other GMs int his league are telling you otherwise 99.99999999999999% of the time you will be wrong. What makes that statement even more striking is that 99.999999999999999999% there is always a split in what the 29 remaining gms think about something (have you read the arguments in this league?). So when we all agree, it is almost a blatant fact than an opinion.Kezia wroteCOLONThat's one opinion. One that I don't share.
Difference of opinion. How hard is that?

Getting called up to the NHL proves you know what you are talking about?Kezia wroteCOLONMathieu Perreault called up today after putting up 25 points in 18 games, plus 2 pts in 3 NHL games earlier in the season. I still have no idea what I'm talking about. Off to watch a hockey game, I guess.
I just stated that I don't know what I'm talking about, Kareem.
