I LOL'ed in public when I read this, and now I'm receiving uncomfortable stares...inferno31 wroteCOLONGod I hope the islanders don't pick him up..
Not possible.SuperMario wroteCOLONI just read this. Essentially a move Holland can make:
1. Sign Nabby, Call him up.
2. Get one of the low teams in the standings to pick him up.
3. Trade Hudler for Nabby + something.
interesting. btw why could the capitals not be in the lead for the presidents trophy. first time in 3 years theyre in the middle of theeast and i might get fucked because of it.inferno31 wroteCOLONNot possible.SuperMario wroteCOLONI just read this. Essentially a move Holland can make:

For Nabby to be traded THIS season he'll have to pass through waivers again. Would expose another low team to grab him again.

I'm not kidding.. Neel would probably want a major piece of my team and I'm not going to do that. I'd much rather pay major pieces for younger players/top picks and set myself up for next season and beyond. Nabakov's garbage and old balls. Giving up that major piece for Nabakov would ruin my chances at winning anyway so it makes more sense to tear it down..MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONFool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me...The Devil wroteCOLONWith the overpayment Neel will most likely want for a 1-2 year goalie and what everyone else will be wanting for a goalie.. if Nabakov signs and clears waivers I might as well tear it down. Let's break some news. Nabokov signed to a one-year deal. Goes on waivers at noon tomorrow.
Maybe your scenario is possible shiv with the other team just waiving him again. If claimed on waivers by another team, Nabokov cannot be traded or waived again without DET having first option to take him back.
TSNBobMcKenzie Bob McKenzie
Nabokov's agent Don Meehan sent a letter to all NHL teams prior to signing saying Nabokov wants to be able to compete as a starter.
TSNBobMcKenzie Bob McKenzie
Nabokov has a No Move clause in his contract with DET. Cannot be put on waivers (after tomorrow, which is req'd) without his permission.
TSNBobMcKenzie Bob McKenzie
Nabokov is ineligible to play in AHL at all as per AHL rules on UFAs signing after Dec. 15. Same deal as Wellwood.

Keep in mind, if Nabokov is claimed by a team and Nabokov doesn't like the situation, he can simply refuse to report and not play this year
just got a rumour the Caps will claim him?SuperMario wroteCOLONRight now Roloson is the only thing stopping me from blowing my team up.
