It's funny, I talked to my brother and 3 friends, all Leafs fans, and they all said exactly that steve: If Gardiner is involved, then we are no longer fans.

I almost want it to happen just to see the chaos it would create...almost.

It's true though - if Burke got fired for not wanting to trade Gardiner in a deal for Luongo that would lead to major outrage in Leaf nation. I don't think the board is crazy enough to do that/deal with the whiplash from a trade like that.

I've always liked nonis in his canuck days, like a fair number of nucks fans I felt like he was let go a bit too early.. personally it's a relief to not have a blustery loud obnoxious gm giving out qoutes to anyone who's willing to print them.. sit down, shut up and let your gm'ing do the talking... having said that I liked burke a lot as a human being, his stance on players doing charity work was simply awesome, and he seems like a genuinely honest person
