This is a great debate haha
Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
According to the NHL CBS, yes . There is a clause in our own cba for players over this age only being waiver draft eligible.

Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
As far as Im concerned its legit...if he was draft eligible in the NHL and were mirroring the NHL Mike should get the pick.
On a side note jealous Mike got him. I wanted to draft him but after searching the forums was under the impression he was owned (which was obviously incorrect). Well done Mike in gettign ANA backup this year!

That passage was taken directly from our CBAKezia wroteCOLONAccording to the NHL CBS, yes . There is a clause in our own cba for players over this age only being waiver draft eligible.
Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
Here's some guys that are now draft eligible, according to this new information:
Damien Brunner
Leo Komarov
Joonas Järvinen
Niklas Svedberg
This greatly dilutes the talent pool of the waiver draft. But if this is the ruling, than it needs to be fair to everyone. All have recently signed to NHL contracts.

Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
I didn't think you could pick players in the entry draft that have contracts...

Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
Yeah Andersen is not eligible, we clearly stated it in the first post:
http://bbkl.ca/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=6588#p82970
same rules we had last year:
I am sure if he was eligible Andersen would have been picked already.

same rules we had last year:
That was decided to clarify and simplify things (we don't use all the rules and caveats of NHL CBA), along with the aim of leaving more quality available for the waiver draft.- eligibility
All bbkl-free players (i.e. players not owned by any BBKL team) born between january 1st 1992 and september 15th 1994 are eligible for selection in the 2012 BBKL Entry Draft.
Additionally, bbkl-free players born between january 1st 1991 and december 31st 1991 that have not played a season in N.A. when 18,19 or 20yrs old are eligible as well.
All other bbkl-free players are eligible for the waiver draft instead.
I am sure if he was eligible Andersen would have been picked already.

This does not conform with our CBA, which clearly states Non-North American players over the age of twenty (20) are also eligible. You may bring up the issue in the CC if you wish it.kyuss wroteCOLONYeah Andersen is not eligible, we clearly stated it in the first post:

yeah Mike, is nothing new the CBA is not up to date and CC public announcements overrule it.Mike wroteCOLONThis does not conform with our CBA, which clearly states Non-North American players over the age of twenty (20) are also eligible. Thanks for making my pick Lee...Surpised Blujus was still around
Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
I think Mike should be allowed to re-do his pick.Tony wroteCOLONdoesn't look like it
Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
Unless I am overlooking one, there are no public announcements which overrule the CBA on this matter.kyuss wroteCOLONyeah Mike, is nothing new the CBA is not up to date and CC public announcements overrule it.Mike wroteCOLONThis does not conform with our CBA, which clearly states Non-North American players over the age of twenty (20) are also eligible. Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
I just assumed Mike's pick counted and we were moving on ...
Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
Keep going. If the CC decides to void my pick I can re-pick later. Or not.Tony wroteCOLONI just assumed Mike's pick counted and we were moving on ...
Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
I don't see the big deal ... but that's just me
Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
Setting precedence is the big deal.
Re: [2012] Entry Draft Discussion
It's already enought of a shit show how we do the draft where people can just run the clock and get 2nd round picks in the 4th + round of our draft.
